Another Flood Alert issued

A Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency.

Flood Alert in force: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal.
Flooding is possible for: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal, including Crowhurst Bridge, Etchingham, Robertsbridge, Salehurst and Bodiam.

Following heavy rainfall, river levels are rising and flooding of low lying land and roads is possible. Property flooding is not expected at this time. Flooding is possible from this afternoon, 30/09/2024. Areas most at risk include low lying land and roads close to the river, particularly in the Crowhurst Bridge area and around Shrub Lane. Further rainfall is forecast for the next few days. We are closely monitoring the situation and clearing any blockages and debris from the river. Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water. This message will be updated by 09:00 tomorrow 01/10/2024, or as the situation changes.
