A Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency.
Flood Alert in force: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal.
Flooding is possible for: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal, including Crowhurst Bridge, Etchingham, Robertsbridge, Salehurst and Bodiam, flooding of property is not expected.
River levels are rising steadily on the River Rother due to this morning’s rainfall.
Flooding is forecast to affect low lying land and roads close to the river, particularly in the Crowhurst Bridge area and around Shrub Lane and at Robertsbridge from 12:00 noon on 09/12/2023.
Further rainfall is forecast this morning but should be largely dry for the remainder of the day.
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and are checking rivers for blockages in the area.
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.
