Flood Alert issued

A Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency.

Flood Alert in force: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal.

Flooding is possible for: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal, including Crowhurst Bridge, Etchingham, Robertsbridge, Salehurst and Bodiam.

River levels have risen as a result of heavy showers today, Saturday 2 March 2024. We expect flooding to affect low lying land and roads along the River Rother, particularly around Crowhurst, Etchingham and Robertsbridge from this evening and levels will remain high overnight. The forecast is for drier weather tomorrow, Sunday 3 March.

We are monitoring the situation and our incident response staff are ready to respond if required. Please avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses. This message will be updated by 6pm on Sunday 3 March, or as the situation changes.
