Flood alert issued.

A Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency.

Flood Alert in force: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal.
Flooding is possible for: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal, including Crowhurst Bridge, Etchingham, Robertsbridge, Salehurst and Bodiam.

This alert is being issued ahead of heavy rainfall forecast overnight tonight, river levels are expected to rise leading to flooding between 3:00 AM and 7:00 PM on 23/09/2024.
Flooding of roads and low lying land is possible, property flooding is not expected at this time. Areas most at risk include low lying land and roads close to the river, particularly in the Crowhurst Bridge area and low lying land and roads along the River Rother, particularly around Robertsbridge.
Weather conditions are expected to improve Monday evening and no further flooding is expected on Tuesday.
We are closely monitoring the situation and clearing debris from weed screens.
Take care and avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
