Flood Alert issued 5th December

Flood Alert.

A Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency.

Flood Alert in force: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal.
Flooding is possible for: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal, including Crowhurst Bridge, Etchingham, Robertsbridge, Salehurst and Bodiam.

Flooding of roads and low lying land is possible, property flooding is not expected.
Flooding is possible from 11:00 PM on 05/12/2024 peaking in the early hours of the morning on 06/12/2024.
Areas most at risk include low lying land and roads close to the river, particularly in the Crowhurst Bridge area, Etchingham, Robertsbridge, Newenden and around Shrub Lane.
Further flooding is possible tomorrow, Friday 06/12/2024 as river levels are expected to remain high due to rainfall.
We are closely monitoring the situation and monitoring rainfall and river levels.
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses.
