Flood Alert

Flood Alert issued.

A Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency.

Flood Alert in force: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal.
Flooding is possible for: River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal, including Crowhurst Bridge, Etchingham, Robertsbridge, Salehurst and Bodiam.

Flooding of roads and low lying land is expected due to heavy rain and snow melt, property flooding is not expected.
Flooding is expected from 7:00 AM on 05/01/2025.
Areas most at risk include low lying land and roads close to the River Rother, particularly in the Crowhurst Bridge area, around Shrub Lane, and around Robertsbridge.
Flooding is possible throughout Sunday into Monday as river levels rise due to heavy rainfall.  Rain is expected to continue throughout Sunday and into Monday morning.
We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and clearing debris from weed screens.
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and never drive through flood water,  just 30cm of fast flowing water is enough to move your car.
